1. What's it about?

Classification under dangerous goods transport law is concerned with consigning a substance or object to a class on the basis of its properties.


2. Classes

The entire Section 2 of the RID/ADR deals with classification. It defines, together with the "Handbook on Tests and Criteria", how a substance is to be classified and which class it belongs to.
